Carolyn (Carol) Sue Nelson, 61, of Baxter, Minn., formerly of Austin, Minn., died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at her home with her family around her. She fought a courageous six-year battle with cancer, never once complaining. She was the strongest woman we ever knew. She will be greatly missed. She was born on Sept. 22, 1951, in Tennessee.

Carol enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband, fishing, and playing cards. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She enjoyed being with her 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was blessed to be married for many years to the love of her life.

Survivors include her husband David (Dave) Nelson of Baxter, Minn., a sister, Martha (Bill) Lamb of North Carolina, four daughters, Tina Nelson of Pillager, Minn., Peggy Hanson of Lyle, Minn., Sherry Nelson (Roger Staupe) of Lyle, Minn., Carey (Fred) Bos of Brainerd, Minn., her grandchildren, Corey Nelson, Christy Hanson, Nicole Hanson, Brittany Nelson, Courtney Nelson, Douglas Nelson, Cody Hanson, David Bos, Kyle Hanson, Kayla Bos, Anthony Bos and Trevor Bos, her great grandchildren, Jada Tucker-Nelson, Kailyn Bissen, Blayke Nelson, Carollynn Tucker Nelson, Maci Rigsbee, Liam Kiker, and Cecilia Martin due to arrive in July. Also aunt and uncle and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Creppel and her grandmother Lena Haynes.

Memorial service is to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Lunch will follow the memorial service. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
