Austin grad Mike Wuertz has signed a minor league contract that includes an invitation to spring training with the Miami Marlins, according to bleacherreport.com.

Wuertz has pitched eight seasons in the Major Leagues with the Chicago Cubs and Oakland. He played in 39 games with the A’s last season and posted an ERA of 6.68 before moving to the minors.
