Carpenter, Iowa, is ready to cue up a cure for cancer this weekend.

The 13th annual Lucille Johnson Pool Tournament, part of the Lyle Area Cancer Auction, will be held at the Carpenter Community Center Jan. 11 to 13. Carpenter is about 12 miles south Lyle.

“It’s a fun weekend,” said Michele Douglas, one of the organizers of the tournament.

Ninety-six two-person teams are open for the pool tournament on a first come, first serve basis.

All proceeds go to the Lyle Area Cancer Auction.
