The No. 7-ranked Hayfield Vikings lost their second straight game Friday night, falling to Stewartville 52-42 on the road.
Poor shooting and a slow start led to the loss as Stewartville (5-8) led 24-17 at halftime.
“They just came out with a lot more energy,” said Hayfield head coach Chris Pack. “We shot a terrible percentage.”
Hayfield (13-4) fought back in the second half, cutting the cap to 29-28 at one point, but that was as close as they got.
“We knew it was going to be a tough one,” Pack said. “We only won by one when they were in Hayfield.”
“It’s definitely concerning,” Pack said of the two-game slide. “The good thing though is we still have time to fix it.
