ALDEN — The Lyle-Pacelli played girls basketball team played its most competitive game in 38 days, but it was able to extend its winning streak to eight as it beat Alden-Conger (10-2 overall) 61-47 on the road Monday.
The Knights got as close as two in the second half, but the Athletics (11-1 overall) pulled away with a late run.
“It’s good for the girls to get a game like this,” LP head coach Brad Walter said. “We probably didn’t play as well as we expected to, but we did what we needed to do to win. Alden-Conger is an aggressive team with a lot of juniors and seniors.”
Ann Rysavy had 18 points and eight rebounds for LP and Sarah Holtz added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
