Brian J. Klapperich, 50, of Stacyville, Iowa, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Brian was born on May 30, 1962, in Osage to Norbert and Mary Ann (Koenigs) Klapperich. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1980.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and sang with the 40 Milers Barbershop Chorus. He loved playing the guitar and drawing and painting. He worked at the Stacyville Nursing Home for 11 years. He loved to bowl and enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He followed the Saints, Hawks, Twins and Vikings. He had an infectious smile and was a friend to all.

He is survived by his mother Mary Ann; brothers Steve ( Laura), Dennis ( Monique) and Tim; sisters Lori (John), Pam (Darren); and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Norbert.

Funeral services will be on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Burial will be at Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville. Visitation is schedule from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
