A Grand Meadow man pleaded not guilty Monday to charges that he threatened a woman, threatened to shoot himself and stood off with police for two hours.
Kevin Manly Spinler, 34, pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and two counts of terroristic threats, all felonies. Authorities received a call about a domestic disturbance at about 2:30 a.m. Aug. 18 in Grand Meadow. When they arrived, a woman said she argued with Spinler, who threatened her and went back into the house to get a gun.
An officer saw Spinler in the basement through an egress window and said Spinler pointed a gun at him, according to the court complaint. Spinler allegedly threatened to shoot himself with a 12-gauge shotgun. After two hours, Spinler unloaded the gun, according to the officer, and came outside without further incident.
Spinler’s next court appearance is March 28, 2013.
