The Austin gymnastics team opened its season on a strong note as it took first in its seven-team Winter Warm-up Invite in the Austin YMCA Saturday.

The Packers were led by junior Sela Fadness, who won the all-around with a score of a 37.6, and the team tallied a score of 142.3.

Austin's Maddie Mulenbach competes on the balance beam during Winter Warm-up Saturday at the YMCA.

“I hand an opportunity to see all of our girls on all events and things looked good,” Austin head coach Mark Raymond said. “All of the girls had moments when they looked good and they all had moments when they looked like it was the beginning of the season. Overall I am happy with where we are starting the season.”
