Curt Rude’s debut novel “JusThis” is garnering lots of attention in Austin.
The former police captain will sign copies of his book at Gymocha from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7.
“There’s just a certain vibe about this book,” he said.
Rude said he has received much praise for his book and even took a request for copies of “JusThis” from the Austin Public Library ever since an article about his transition from police officer to author ran in the Daily Herald last week. Rude organized the signing with the owners of Gymocha and plans to bring 60 to 75 copies of “JusThis” to sell at the event for $9.99 each.
The book, a thriller, weaves the lives of individuals who live in the fictitious town of Normal. It peers into the world of violence, sexual assault and death. Rude said it also poses an answer to the question of, “why honorable men sometimes do dishonorable things.”
