The Mower County Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to thank the many blood donors who helped make the October blood drive a huge success. A total of 288 units were collected during the three-day draw — that’s 23 units over our goal!

A special thanks to the many volunteers for their help. We would also like to thank the following businesses for their contributions and support: Sterling State Bank & Barry Irish & staff, Culligan Water Conditioning, Austin Kwik Trip, Austin Hy-Vee, Jim’s Market Place Foods, Cedar Valley Services, Inc., the Austin Daily Herald, and John Wright and KAUS Radio.

The next community blood drive will be Feb. 4, 5 and 6, 2013, in the Austin Sterling State Bank building. Plan now to donate at the next blood drive. When you give blood, you give another birthday, another anniversary, another laugh, another hug, another chance.
