CHATFIELD — The Southland girls basketball team picked up a big win over Chatfield (1-1 overall, 1-1 Three Rivers) by a score of 64-53 on the road Friday.

Seniors Haley Kirkpatrick and Jana Schammel each scored 24 points to lead the attack for the Rebels (2-0 overall, 2-0 Three Rivers).

“Any time you can get a win on the road over a team that’s going to be near the top, it’s huge,” Southland head coach Bob Sheehan said. “We played within ourselves and we kept it away from their big girls inside.”
