Betty Anne Peterson, 80, of Ostrander, Minn., died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Ostrander Nursing Home.

Betty was born on April 17, 1932, in Fisher, Minn., to Bert and Thora (Leeback) Johnson. She attended country school until eighth grade and later received her GED. She was united in marriage to Howard Peterson on Feb. 2, 1951, and together they farmed in the LeRoy area all of their lives. Betty loved cooking, gardening, bird watching, anything to do with nature and her grandchildren. She also loved the Vikings and playing 500.

Betty is survived by her five children Lynn (Chris) Peterson of Kasson, Minn., Lila (Rodney) Pierce of Rochester, Minn., Brad Peterson of LeRoy, Minn., Kelly Peterson of Sydney, Australia, and Scott (Jennifer) of LeRoy, Minn.; five grandchildren Amber Peterson, Ryan Pierce, Justin Pierce, Serena Peterson and Ty Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy with Pastor Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be at LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery in LeRoy. Friends may gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and one hour prior to the service at church.
