Everald Sailor, 92, Minnesota Lake

Everald Cecilia Sailor, age 92, of Minnesota Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. Visitation will be held Tuesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. The Rev. Thomas Niehaus will officiate, and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Everald C. Sailor was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Minnesota Lake, the daughter of Vincent and Anna (Veloske) Rathai. She was united in marriage to Ira John Sailor on Jan. 24, 1939, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, and they were married 60 years prior to Ira’s death.
She attended school at the pink school house. Everald worked many years and retired from Stampers in Wells. She was an active and devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Everald also enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, crocheting, gardening, playing cards, and visiting with friends and family.
Everald is survived by her children: Marilyn Stenzel of New Richland, LaVern (wife Trish) Sailor of St. Louis, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Julie Sailor of White Bear Lake; son-in-law: Alvin Knutson of Alden; brothers: Maynard Rathai of Kiester, Marvin (Agnes) Rathai of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister: Delores Stencel and daughter Kim of Albert Lea; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ira; son Raymond; daughter Jan Knutson; brother-in-law Don Stencel and son-in-law LeRoy Stenzel.
