Absentee deadlines nearing

The clock is ticking for people to absentee vote in Mower County.

So far, more than 1,070 of the 20,351 registered voters in Mower County have filed absentee ballots. The window to do so is closing. To return a ballot in person, it must be filed before 5 p.m. Monday at the auditor-treasurer’s office in the Mower County Government Center, 201 First Street NE. Ballots can be returned by mail but must be received at the auditor-treasurer’s office by Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The auditor-treasurer’s office will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

For people who are in the hospital or home-bound due to health or a disability, a designated agent can pickup and deliver ballots through 3 p.m. on Election Day.

The agent must have a preexisting relationship with the voter. For more information, visit www.sos.state.mn.us or contact the auditor-treasurer’s office.
