SPRING GROVE — The Lyle-Pacelli Athletics saw their season come to an end Tuesday night at the hands of No. 1 seed Spring Grove in the Section 1, nine-man tournament, 56-14.

Spring Grove (9-0) rolled to a 56-0 first half lead en route to the win.

“We dressed just 16 kids going into a tough challenge against the No. 1 seed,” coach Reid Olson said.

LP’s two scores came in the fourth quarter, the first on a 10-yard run by Daniel Bollingberg and the second on a 16-yard run by Garrett Lester.

From here, the Athletics (1-8) look to the offseason coming off a season where their only win was a midseason upset against Lanesboro.

“We got a lot of work ahead of us in the off-season,” Olson said. “We know what it looks like, against Lanesboro, we know what it feels like, we know what it tastes like.

“The offseason starts now.”
