Packers fall to No. 3 Huskies

The Packers couldn’t do much too slow down the Owatonna football team as they lost 44-0 to the No. 3 ranked Huskies in Art Hass Stadium Friday.
Owatonna (7-0 overall, 6-0 Big Nine) tacked up 445 total yards and held the Packers to just 50 yards.
“They’ve got a good interior five and it’s hard to evaluate,” Austin head coach Brett Vesel said.
The Packers (2-5 overall, 2-4 Big Nine) recovered an on-side kick to start the game, but went three-and-out. Austin’s defense also stopped the Huskies on two of their first three possessions, but Owatonna scored 30 points in the second quarter to break it open.
“They’re a good football team. We competed for awhile and had a few spurts,” Vesel said.
Austin will now focus on its matchup with Albert Lea (1-6 overall, 1-5 Big Nine) next Wednesday in AL at 7 p.m.
“It’ll be a big game and hopefully it’ll be exciting,” Vesel said. “They’re not Owatonna, so that’s a positive.”
