The ex-wife of a predatory offender who was recently sentenced to 7.5 years in prison was convicted of two gross misdemeanors for aiding him in his crime.
Angela Kay Ubaldo, 33, of Austin, was sentenced Thursday in Mower County Court to four years’ probation for each offense: gross misdemeanor aiding an offender and gross misdemeanor neglect of a child.
Erasmo Ubaldo Marcos, 42, of Austin, and Ubaldo’s ex-husband, was convicted several weeks ago of felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct — multiple acts with a significant relation younger than 16 several weeks ago.
Ubaldo notified Marcos in January that police were going to arrest him in regards to the criminal sexual conduct, which had happened several times with the victim during the past year until reported by the victim this April.
Ubaldo pleaded guilty on July 13 to the two charges. A third charge, aiding an offender after the fact, was dismissed.
