Volleyball: Larks win consolation match in WEM tournament

WATERVILLE — The Grand Meadow volleyball team won two out of its four matches as it won the consolation bracket at the Waterville-Elyisian-Morristown Invite Saturday.
In pool play, the Superlarks (6-5 overall) beat Cleveland 25-23, 25-20, and it lost to Maple River 17-25, 25-22, 15-12, and fell to Minnesota Valley 25-15, 25-19. GM beat Glenville-Emmons 28-26, 25-16 in the consolation title match.
Against Maple River, Cortney Olson had 11 kills, Audra Durhman had six kills and Autumn Thorsen had 19 assists; against Cleveland, Olson had 12 kills, Sydney Richardson had 2 kills and Thorsen had 20 assists; against MVL, Theresa Gehling had three kills and one block; against the Wolverines, Olson had 15 kills and four aces.
