Voters in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District can watch their major party candidates debate the issues Sept 27 live on CW Rochester, digital channel 10.2. The debate is set to begin at noon and last for 90 minutes.
KTTC anchor Tom Overlie will moderate the debate between Congressman Tim Walz, D-Mankato, and challenger Allen Quist, R-St. Peter, before a live audience at Somerby Golf Club in Byron. The debate has been arranged by the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce with KTTC-TV.
“This may be the only debate on business and economic issues between these candidates,” said Jerry Watson, Quincy Broadcasting regional vice president and general manager of KTTC Television. “Everyone knows that this election is all about the economy, jobs and getting people back to work. This debate will help voters see the differences between the congressional candidates on the most important issues of this election.”
The debate will be telecast live on CW Rochester, a sister station of KTTC-TV, and also streamed live on KTTC.com. CW Rochester is available throughout southeastern Minnesota and can be found in the Mankato area on Charter Cable channel 18.
