The Lyle-Pacelli volleyball team couldn’t overcome a couple of close losses in the first two games as it fell to Spring Grove (10-9 overall, 6-3 SEC) by scores of 29-27, 28-26, 25-16 in Pacelli Thursday.

The Athletics (7-11 overall, 5-3 SEC) struggled with serve receiving and getting their serves down, but otherwise they played fine, according to head coach Lindsey Leif.

“It was intense,” Leif said. “We could’ve beaten them if we would’ve pulled out one of those first two games. There were some big rallies and some extreme digs.”
