ST. PAUL — Republican Allen Quist heads into the final stretch before a primary against state Sen. Mike Parry with almost $118,000 to spend after providing his campaign another $10,000.
Quist’s campaign reported that he raised $18,800 in the first 25 days of July. Quist has now raised nearly $237,000 — more than $200,000 from his own pocket.
The former state representative has led Parry in fundraising in a race marked by personal attacks.
The winner of the Aug. 14 primary will challenge Democratic Rep. Tim Walz in southern Minnesota’s 1st District.
