Harriet L. Lettman, 89, of Austin, Minn., died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

Harriet was born April 28, 1923, to Raymond and Margaret (Aldrich) Doust at Boy River, Minn., in Cass County. After growing up in the Grand Rapids area, Harriet married Lincoln Lettman, but they were later divorced. A bookkeeper all her life, Harriet made her home in the Minnesota cities of Brainerd and Willmar before moving to Glendale, Ariz. Later, she returned to Minnesota where she settled in Austin, joining Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She was very active in the Eastern Star and was a member of the Mower County Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and baking and was proud to be a Breast Cancer Survivor.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Foster of Austin; a son, George (Larri) Lettman of Peoria, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, George (Doris) Doust of Worthington; several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Margaret; one brother; one sister; a son, Lincoln Lettman, Jr.; son-in-law, James Foster.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Karen Behling officiating. Visitation is at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with an Easter Star Service at 7 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date. The family prefers memorials to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin or to the Eastern Star. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
