CHASKA — The Austin Blue Sox saw their season come to an end as they lost an elimination game to Isanti 7-6 at the supersection tournament in Chaska Saturday.
The Blue Sox (16-20 overall) lost 1-0 in the opening round to the Mankato Twins in 10 innings Friday night.
“This was a huge turnaround year for us and we’ve got a lot of guys who are excited to come back next year,” Blue Sox manager Jamie Pratt said. “If we scored one extra run in either game, we could be headed to state, but we are headed in the right direction.”
Kyal Williams went 5-for-5 with two homers in three RBIs for Austin in the loss to Isanti and Brady Banse struck out ten and didn’t allow a run in nine innings against Mankato.
“I can’t ask for anything more out of these guys,” Pratt said.
