Tuesdays on Main featuring Halloween costumes

It’s not too early for Halloween, according to Austinites.
Tuesdays on Main will also serve as Halloween in July this Tuesday. Children can trick-or-treat starting at 5 p.m. and enjoy a menagerie of other happenings. Among the candy, there will be critters from Radzoo, Kaptain Kirby’s Train, face paintings, balloon giveaways, food and more. There will also be plenty for adults, including music and multiple vendors.
Just a few blocks away, the Hormel Historic Home will also feature Koo Koo Kangaroo’s music at 6:30 p.m. in the garden.
Tuesdays on Main began less than a month ago, and is the idea of Kiersten Hall and the Downtown Austin Alliance — a team of business owners, residents and managers.
“We’re hoping to make this grow, and make it into an Austin tradition,” Hall said. “We need to get back to the original Facebook: knowing our neighbors.”
Events will run every Tuesday throughout the summer from 3 to 9 p.m. from Oakland Avenue to Fourth Avenue N. More information about Tuesdays on Main is available at downtownaustinmn.com.
