BLUE EARTH — John Kirby picked up the win on the mound and delivered four hits at the plate as the Austin Blue Sox beat Blue Earth 8-4 on the road Monday.

Kirby scattered eight hits and struck out four in the complete game win.

“John’s a great athlete, there’s no doubt about it,” Blue Sox manager Josh Kunze said. “We’ve very excited to have him and we’re going to continue to let him blossom.”

The Blue Sox (5-11 overall) will host Plainview in Marucsen Park Friday at 8 p.m.
