Though yesterday was a warm one, Austin didn’t have a record-breaking day.
The National Weather Service is reporting a temperature high of 95 degrees yesterday, only one degree lower than the 96-degree record set in 1991.
Today should be a little cooler thanks to a small weather front moving through the area, according to NWS meteorologist Dan Jones.
“We definitely will be back up to around 90 degrees,” said Jones.
The warm weather is due to a high pressure system stretching to the Ohio River valley, but the next several days should have a few storms to help cool things down. The heat looks to continue throughout the weekend, with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s through next Monday.
