Downtown business owners could be borrowing an idea from Rochester.

The Downtown Retailer’s Association will speak to the county board Tuesday during its regular meeting to request to use the county parking lot west of the Jail and Justice Center for Thursday night events similar to Rochester’s Thursdays on First.

The county board briefly discussed the issue last Tuesday, but had questions about times and how it may affect employees who work late.

The county meeting starts with Human Services business at 8:30 a.m. and regular business at 9:30 a.m.
