Class ‘A’ state meet: Area golfers are in the middle of the pack

BECKER, MINN. —  Two area golfers shot almost identical scores on the first day of the Class ‘A’ state boys golf

Blooming Prairie sophomore Victor Peterson shot an 84 and Hayfield freshman Brady Becker shot an 85 as they are both in the middle of the pack with one more day of play scheduled for Wednesday.

Peterson is tied with five other golfers for 32nd and Becker, who shot a 40 on the front nine, is tied with four other golfers for 39th out of 88 golfers.

Cordell Webster of Martin County West leads the field with a 71.

In the Class ‘A’ state girls golf meet, which is also at Pebble Creek, Hayfield senior Kasey Dahlen shot a 99 on the first day and is currently tied for 42nd with three other golfers out of 84 total competitors.

Dahlen shot a 49 on the back nine.

There are four golfers tied with an 82 at the top of the field.
