Woman improving after she was accidentally shot in head

A Rose Creek woman who police say was accidentally shot in the head by a .22 caliber rifle on Saturday continues to make improvements at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

According to a Caring Bridge Web page — where people can comment and make donations — Maja Blazevic-Iverson, 26, of Rose Creek, is showing signs of improvement. The page had received nearly 2,500 visits as of press time.

St. Marys hasn’t released her condition.

Blazevic-Iverson, was shot Friday in rural Rose Creek when a young boy — who was shooting birds at the time — accidentally shot through a shed and struck Blazevic-Iverson. Her husband noticed that she fell backward and was bleeding from the ear. The Mayo 1 helicopter rushed her to St. Marys where she had immediate surgery, according to Sheriff Terese Amazi.
