For the girls, Austin eighth grader Madsion Overby had a strong showing as she broke her own school record in the 3200-meter run. Overby cut 16 seconds off her previous record time to take second with a time of 11:28.

“She made a big drop to get to the first record and she did really well tonight,” Austin head coach Nancy Jones said. “She told me this was the first time that she was really happy with how she ran this season.”
