An Austin man was arrested immediately after he was in court Tuesday when he fled his probation officer.

Police arrested Ricky Allen Severtson, 60, of Austin, near the 400 block of Main Street and First Avenue N. According to the police report, Severtson tested positive for a controlled substance, ran from his probation officer, left the courthouse and then fled on foot.

Police gave Severtson a citation for fleeing an officer, and he was also put on a 36-hour probation hold. Severtson was originally in court Tuesday for an 8:30 a.m. hearing regarding a felony terroristic threat charge, gross misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault charges from an alleged offense on April 12.

His pre-trial is set for June 21.
