HAYFIELD — Stewartville (14-3 overall) clinched the HVL Gold Division with a 6-0 win over the Hayfield baseball team Thursday.

The Vikings (4-13 overall) fell behind early but freshman pitcher Cam Rutledge kept them within striking distance as he allowed just two earned runs in six and one-thirds innings on the mound.

“For a freshman, Cam pitched a great game against the best team in the conference, in my opinion,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said.
