The Riverland baseball team pounded out 26 hits as they swept Central Lakes (1-19 overall) by scores of 10-0 in five innings and 13-3 in five innings in a doubleheader at Seltz Field Thursday.

The Blue Devils (11-6 overall) didn’t score in the first three innings of the first game, but once they got their timing down, they scored in every frame after that.

“They started a guy with a lot of curve balls in the first game and he could throw them for strikes,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “It took us awhile, but once we started sitting back, we got going.”

Austin grad Quinn Yocom went two-for-two with a double and an RBI in the nightcap and Southland grad Chris May went two-for-three and knocked in the game-clinching run with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.

Hayfield grad Tyler Krekling went two-for-four with three RBIs and two runs on the day.
