KINGSLAND — After scoring one total run its first two games combined, the Southland baseball team put up double-digit runs for the second straight game when it beat Grand Meadow-LeRoy-Ostrander-Kingsland (0-4 overall, 0-4 Three Rivers) 14-10 on the road Tuesday.
The Rebels (2-2 overall, 2-2 Three Rivers) tallied 10 hits as Decker Bendtsen put the exclamation point on the win with a three-run triple in a six-run seventh inning for Southland.
“I’m happy to see we’re starting to hit the ball well,” Southland head coach Scott Retterath said. “Hopefully that continues and our pitching will get stronger. Those guys are basically greenhorns and they’re still learning.”
