MANKATO — The Austin softball team was swept by No. 7 ranked Mankato East (7-0 overall, 6-0 Big Nine) by scores of 5-2 and 11-1 on the road Friday.

Austin (4-3 overall, 4-3 Big Nine) held the Cougars to less than nine runs for just the second time this season in the first game, but it wasn’t enough as Austin allowed a total of nine unearned runs on the day.
