An event to celebrate the life of former president and CEO of Hormel Foods Corp. I.J. “Jim” Holton has been set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hormel Historic Home.

Holton died at his home in Austin on Wednesday, April, 11. He was 92.

Friends may greet his family at the banquet area of the HHH starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Father Paul Nelson and Mike Ruzek will lead a time to share memories of Holton’s life at 2:30 p.m.

A reception will follow. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Holton was born Aug. 16, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated in 1941 from the University of Iowa.

Holton worked for Hormel for 36 years. He served as president from 1969-1979 and CEO from 1972-1981.
