Roberta Ann Tischer, 83, of Austin, Minn., died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Our House Memory Care in Austin.

Roberta Frettham was born August 6, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa to Virgil and Frances (Stehn) Frettham. She was united in marriage to Dale Tischer on November 14, 1950 at First United Methodist Church in Austin. The couple had two sons, William and John. Roberta worked for Dr. Patterson and for Dr. R.A. Anderson, and then later in the Medical Records and Communications Department at Austin Medical Clinic. A member of First United Methodist Church, she loved reading, sewing, and helping people, especially lending a hand in the neighborhood. Her grandkids were a special source of enjoyment for Roberta.

Survivors include her husband Dale of Austin; sons William (Linda) Tischer of Shoreview, Minn. and John (Kim) Tischer of Waseca, Minn.; two grandchildren, Paul and Carl; one sister, Louise (Wilfried) Shushelnycky, of White Bear Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Frances Frettham and a brother, Virgil.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with the Rev. Marilee Benson officiating. Visitation will be held at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday March 16, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
