Austin firefighters put out a small fire on the roof of the City Car Wash in Austin at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday. Fire Chief Mickey Healey said the fire started in a cleaning bay near the business office overnight, and it appeared someone had fought the fire on the roof before firefighters arrived. The fire started up once more at some point, and firefighters were dispatched just after 8 a.m. to finish it off. “(It’s) very fortunate it didn’t take off,” Healey said. -- Trey Mewes/trey.mewes@austindailyherald.com
