One of the former members of the DC Drifters’ setup crew is being honored at the Kato Entertainment Center in Mankato Saturday, March 24.

The Kato will host a birthday party and celebration for manager Larry Bowers, who has worked there for the past 30 years and is turning 60 this year. The DC Drifters will perform a Buddy Holley and Richie Valens tribute at the event, along with Patsy Cline impersonator Coco Walters.

Bowers used to be the “band boy” on the Drifters’s setup crew as Bowers and Denny Charnecki, Drifters frontman, are from Austin.
