The last of five men who allegedly burglarized a home at gunpoint in February 2011 changed his plea in Mower County Court on Monday.

Goaner Riek Weang, 25, pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, a felony. Two other charges, first-degree aggravated robbery and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, were both dismissed in a plea agreement.

Weang also signed a Padilla vs. Kentucky waiver, admitting he is not a U.S. citizen, and he could be deported.

The home invasion took place around 11 p.m. Feb. 27, when police received a report of a small group of men breaking into a house in the 800 block of Eighth Avenue SW. According to court documents, the men brought two shotguns.

The men demanded money and marijuana, and when they were unable to find either, they took a cell phone and a laptop.

Chany Paul Anade, 21, was sentenced to 51 months in prison for his involvement in the burglary. Weang is Anade’s cousin and was at large for some time. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 10.
