Audrey Pauline Pierce, 85, formerly of Rose Creek, died Friday morning, March 2, 2012, at her home in Navarre, Fla.

She was born April 3, 1926, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Henry and Madelia (Wilson) Soder. She grew up in Wells, Minn., where she graduated from Wells High School. Audrey then attended Mankato Teachers College in Mankato, Minn. After completing her education, Audrey taught school in East Chain, Minn., where she met and married Keith Craig Pierce on Dec. 22, 1947, in Wells, Minn. The couple made their home on a farm near East Chain before moving to Rose Creek, Minn. Keith died on July 4, 1974. After his death, Audrey continued to live in Rose Creek before moving to Austin where she worked at Kid’s Korner and Johnson Floral. In 2006, she moved to Florida to be near her daughter. She enjoyed playing piano and singing as well as gardening. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of London.

Audrey is survived by her children, Mark (Marion) Pierce of Orlando, Fla., Daniel (Carol) Pierce of Brownsdale, Stephen (Kay) Pierce of Manitowoc, Wis., and Laurel (Carlos) Bassart of Navarre; three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith Pierce and a sister, Helen Swenson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Reuben Unseth, officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery near East Chain, Minn. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
