RUSHFORD — The Southland boys basketball team fell behind early and couldn’t get close enough in a 73-67 loss at Rushford-Peterson (17-4 overall, 13-4 Three Rivers) Friday.

The Rebels (13-8 overall, 9-6 Three Rivers) trailed 29-10 early on and they couldn’t get closer than six.

“We made a nice comeback, but we dug ourselves to big of a hole to overcome,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said. “I’m proud of the way our kids fought back.”
