Lois A. Kaput, 81, of Lyle, Minn., died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

Lois Ann Hagan was born Dec. 19, 1930, on a farm in Red Rock Township. Her parents were Stephen and Charlotte (Harrington) Hagan. Lois attended St. Augustine Catholic School, graduating in 1949. On Aug. 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to George Kaput at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. The couple had five children. Lois was a homemaker who lived all her years on a farm, 60 of those on the Kaput family farm. She spent her spare time as a member of the Lyle Legion Auxiliary for 44 years, president of the Lyle Legion Auxiliary for eight years, president of the Lioness Club for two years, a member of the Eagle’s Club, and she assisted in starting the Lyle Garden Club. She was a very active volunteer, including delivering Meals on Wheels and baking for every bake sale held. Lois battled cancer since 2004. Her husband George passed away in 1999.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Carl) Ellis of Lyle; Kristine (Ken) Bartness of Austin, and Nancy Knipp of Dallas, Texas; one son, Robert (Jodi) Kaput of Lyle; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Martha Hagan, Jean Hagan, Janice Hagan, Shirley Hagan; brother-in-law, Delmer Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Charlotte Hagan; husband, George Kaput; daughter, Sharon Kaput; sisters, Luella Hagan and Rosemary Peterson; sisters; and brothers-in-law, Gladys (William) Meinerts, Irene (Ellsworth) Corbett; brothers, Leo Hagan, Paul Hagan, Dan Hagan, David Hagan, Bernard Hagan; brother and sister-in-law, Milo (Ardella) Hagan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lyle with Father Thomas Loomis officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, with a Rosary Service at 4 p.m. Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery, Lyle, Minn.
