Aside from two big wins over Hope Lutheran by the Lyle-Pacelli boys and girls basketball teams Friday night, the 1992 Pacelli Class A state championship boys team was recognized.

The team made an improbable run to the title, over coming a regular season that saw them at 5-9 at about the midway point of the season and 11-11 at regular season’s end.

The Shamrocks then marched through the playoffs, ending in the defeat of top-rated De La Salle in the championship game.

Members of that team along with coaches were on hand Friday night to remember that run and lift the trophy one last time.
