Eleanor Edith Lindner, 71, of Yankton, S.D., died of natural causes on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Riverview Reformed Church, Yankton, with Rev. Rodney Veldhuizen celebrating. Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery, Aten, Neb. Visitation will be 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are Cory Meng, Edward Meng, Jr., Dennis Olson, William Zeigler, Dwayne Cap, Leonard Cap, Elmer Engbrecht, Ashley Meng, Kayla Meng and Cody Perez. Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Edward Meng Sr. and Wally Bina.

Eleanor was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to Frances (Storm) and Charles Gulling. After graduating high school in 1958, she attended Stewart School of Hairstyling and Mount Marty College. She was married to Elmer Engbrecht in 1962. Three daughters were born into their union. Throughout Eleanor’s life, she owned a beauty salon in Marion, S.D. Later she worked at Concord Nursing Home and Human Services Center as a dietician.

Thankful for having shared her life is Elmer Engbrecht of Volin, S.D; her daughters, Julie (Dwayne) Cap of Yankton, Jackie (Wally) Bina of Austin, Minn., and Tammy (Edward, Sr.) Meng of Mission Hill, S.D., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Charles.
