County to select project manager and architect

The county board will make its selection to lead the Mower County Government Center Remodel official Tuesday.
The board is set to finalize the hiring of Knutson Construction Services as the project manager and Paul Johnson Architects as the project’s architect at the board’s regular meeting, which starts with Human Services business at 8:30 a.m. and general business at 9:30.
The county’s cost for the Government Center remodel and Law Enforcement Center projects is about $4.6 million — about $3.8 million for the government center remodel and about $800,000 for the county’s share of remodeling the Law Enforcement Center. Including all costs — county and non-county — County Coordinator Craig Oscarson said the entire project is closer to $6 million.
In other business:
•Auditor-Treasurer Doug Groh is set to discuss the redistricting committee.
•Alan Layman will give an annual update on the Cedar River Watershed District.
•The board will accept bids for paving on County Roads 2 and 36. The board will also approve a 2012-2013 Feedlot Program Delegation Agreement & Workplan.
•The board will discuss setting a public hearing on its capital improvement plan and the sale of $10 million in obligation capital improvement bonds.
