The Austin City Council will discuss street improvements and flood control projects at its bimonthly meeting Tuesday night.
City Council members are expected to approve at least nine resolutions on street improvement projects Tuesday, as well as restrict parking on 14th Street NW from Fourth Avenue to Eighth Avenue NW. That stretch of road is part of a 14th Street NW renovation project going from Oakland Avenue W. to Eighth Avenue NW.
In addition, Council members will hear an update on the North Main flood control project, which deals with land west of the Cedar River from north of Jerry’s Other Place to the city swimming pool. Members will also discuss design agreements over the wastewater treatment plant’s excess flow lagoon.
Thanks in part to last year’s successful electronics recycling events, Council members will discuss holding another electronics recycling event in late spring or summer. The city and Mower County officials recycled more than 220,000 pounds of electronics last year, according to city officials.
