BLOOMING PRAIRIE — Blooming Prairie freshman John Rumpza tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Awesome Blossoms knocked off Faribault Bethlehem Academy (18-7 overall, 11-5 Gopher) 53-39 in BP Friday.

BP (10-12 overall, 6-8 Gopher) struggled with foul trouble in the first half, but it opened the second half strong as it led by as many as 23 points.

“A win like this has been a long time coming as we have been competing with some very good teams lately and just haven’t put everything together and closed the game out,” BP head coach John Bruns, who picked up his 150th win on the night, said.
