ROCHESTER, Minn. — Rochester police say alcohol likely played a role in the death of a teen left sleeping in a cold car overnight.

Eighteen-year-old Minorum Hong, of Rochester, was found dead about 8 a.m. Sunday in the vehicle. Police Capt. Brian Winters says Hong was sleeping when friends parked the car outside a home and left him there. Temperatures hovered in the teens overnight. Winters says Hong was not wearing a winter jacket. He says the investigation is focused on how much alcohol Hong consumed, where he got it and how long he had been in the car.

A funeral home death notice says Hong was a student at Golden Hill Alternative Day School and was looking forward to becoming a father.
