A 19-year-old Austin man is in the hospital after a car rollover Thursday morning.

Gabriel Deyo was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin after his car rolled over on 205th Street a half-mile west of 31st Street SW, according to Sheriff Terese Amazi.

Deputies responded at about 9:09 a.m. Thursday and found a 1997 Dodge Avenger on fire in a drainage ditch on the north side of 205th Street. The car was on its passenger side submerged in a foot of water.

Deputies found Deyo about 50 to 75 feet away from the car, complaining of severe back pain. Amazi said Deyo crawled out of the car.

Amazi did not know the extent of Deyo’s injuries. Deyo was the only person in the car.
